Yes exactly, plus I had an old 1/2" garden hose hanging around and didn't need to buy new hose. I first installed one then a second one and if needed I would have gone to a third but two was what ended up working out best. Anything more and I would have had too much air. Most all my riding is done under 5000 feet above sea level.

Yes exactly, plus I had an old 1/2" garden hose hanging around and didn't need to buy new hose. I first installed one then a second one and if needed I would have gone to a third but two was what ended up working out best. Anything more and I would have had too much air. Most all my riding is done under 5000 feet above sea level.

I did a similar mod with a .90 cent 1.5" PVC pipe drain (grate that snaps in 1.5 PVC pipe) and stuffed foam filter in it and screwed and sealed it in the airbox lid. I cut .25, .50 ,.75 and a full circle out of plastic and used the one that worked the best. I just lay the plastic it in under the foam. I use the full circle block off if riding in the deep water. Your hose idea gets the intake that much higher than the box!

Plus I think that because the hose come out just under the handle bars that I can plug one or both real quick if I need to richen up the ari/fuel mix for any altitude or temp changes. Kind of like tuning on the fly....
