Fuel tank / Fuel petcock problems
Im just wondering how many of you are also having this problem? On my 2001 300 4x4 the fuel tank filler neck cracked between the threads that the cap screws on to. This also happened on my wifes 2001 300. I was very careful not to put the caps on to tight as I had heard this was a problem on the 2001 models of all sizes. I work with 2 guys that have 2001 ACs and they had the same thing happen to them. I fixed both of mine by using JB weld in the crack and then using fuel caps from 2002 and later models. I noticed that AC has changed the parts # for the 2001 cap and now you get the deeper 2002 and later cap. (more threads). At least I did.
The other problem I have had with both quads (also both guys at work) is with the fuel petcock. It will not shut off the fuel. I took it apart and found that a small piece of the rubber disk inside had tore off, and on my bike had gone done the fuel line and got stuck under the carb needle causing it to flood. I fixed this by turning the rubber disk over to expose the good side and glueing in place with, you guessed it, JB Weld. I have asked every one I run across at my riding area if there AC petcock will shut off the fuel, and after trying none of them work.
I think these are both problems that AC needs to address and implement a recall. Anyone else feel the same?

Fuel tank / Fuel petcock problems
I haven't had the petcock problem yet. The only fuel tank problem I had was the original stopper(with the fuel gauge was cracked when I bought the machine last November. I replaced it with a skidoo gas stopper with a little pinhole on the top for ventalation.
