Help me with 03 400 auto 4x4 ?'s
#1
I have a 03 400 auto 4x4, love it, but she is stock, and i want to start adding to her. I'm having a hell of a time finding exhausts or much of anything else. All info and tips would be greatly appriciated. THANK YOU!!!

Look up 'air jetting' in this forum, that is a start and doesn't cost much to get more hp. I was able to get 22% better gas mileage - you can only get better gas mileage if the engine is more efficient and/or has more hp to allow it to work easier. Also, check out 'How to make the AC handle better'. This will make your ride a little more fun once you get the machine dialed in for better handling.

Thank you very much buckaroo50, this 'air jetting' tip looks very dooable. I think i might actually dive into this project this weekend, if i do, i'll make sure to take pics and let you see how i did. I live and ride in the 2800-3000 elevation range, you suggest i do two hoses? i mean, i can always plug one or the other, I should actually just put another thread end on the other ends of them, and you can always screw on a end cap to block them off, little nicer looking than stuffing a rag or a wad down them. Once again, thanks for the help, much appriciated!!

I live at close to sea-level and have two (garden hose size). As you go up the air is thinner so your mix becomes richer and you will need more air. I would suggest at least two possibly even larger hose than the garden hose (maybe 1/2 ID or larger). You need only to plug the hose by sticking a bolt in the hole - if snug it won't fall out. You would only need to plug if you went down in elevation or in the colder winter air, where you need more gas. There is a possibility of three or four hoses to give even more fine tuning - heck at around $3.00 each, why not.
Good luck and I hope you get as good and even better results than I got.

I would snorkel, re-jet and for a muffler, take it to a local exhaust shop and see if they can put on a glasspack muffler. Should only cost about $100 which is was most people have been charged when they have it done.
