What can I do, 650 V2?

If you go with those 27" tires, I would definitely get some clutch springs and make damn sure your belt is properly tightened. Those tires will burn that belt up if things are not set up properly. Toss a set ofPink/Black or Pink/Red EPI springs and you will turn those big boys no problem in the mud. The Dynatek CDI is a must have for someone who wants some more snap, well worth it.
Breaking axles can be avoiding by knowing when you are stuck and just throwing out the cable. You probably aren't going to break it before you realize you are in some deep, thick mud. Drive smart and you decrease the odds of breaking but it can still happen, even a 400 can break an axle.

i found out one thing when it comes to breaking things on your drivetrain. if you have an abundance of power which i do with my 27 inch tires and you will to with yours, you won't break things as easily. i put 27 inch 589's on my 500 cat i used to have and i busted my rearend housing and i broke something in my tranny. if you start spinning these tires with the 650 you got the power where if you hit something solid you will either jump it forward or dig it up or lose traction. if you got to much tire for the machine your tires won't have the momentum and something has to give and sometimes that can be an axle or a rearend or the belt slips. and if you put 27 inch tires on the dynatek will give you enough to cover the power loss and then some. i agree with chumley yet once again for he is very wise when it comes to atv's (i taught him everything he knows ) i went with epi pink primary spring and black secondary and it works very very nice.

weez, speaking of an abundence of power, are you gonna upgrade to the Thundercat? Wish I could talk the wife into that!!

i am thinking bout that 700 H1. i got a guy at work that is gonna buy my 650 from me when he gets the money. then i have to sell my snowcat then i can get the 700. i am kinda debating weather i should even sell my fourwheeler and get a new one. with buying the house and being so busy this summer i don't have 50 miles on it all summer. i have more actual miles on my dirtbike then my wheeler. oh and the boys from trf are back from iraq i know 4 of them and i am sure happy they are all back safe and sound and i will be happy to see 3 of them again your nephew was in their company as i recall wasn't he?

Did I read it wrong or did you mean it the other way around. What you are saying is a lower HP engine will break the same components easier than a higher HP engine.

Thanks guys for all the information, going through withdrawals, can't get a chance to ride. My next day off is Sunday the 12th, can't wait. I do have a question though, about changing the clutch springs. I have never seen the inner workings of the CVT, I have installed a Barnett clutch on my XR. How difficult is this? What type of belt should I put on when I change the springs, I figure that would be a good time to replace it and start fresh.
This will probably be a project for the winter. My wife liked riding enough that I am looking to buy her an ATV. Thinking wbout a 400 AC, got to start looking around for one, once she has one, then I will be able to do all the upgrades to mine. Looks as if I may get the 27" Mudlites from my friends 450 Griz. He wants to go with a smaller tire. I smell a deal in the making.
Thanks again to all.....

Chumley, thanks for the info about not having to change belts, but as far as the cvt being just like a snowmobiles, I don't know anyone here in Louisiana that own any. We have swamp buggies and airboats and water skis. But I do appreciate your trying to help me. I am sure I can find something on the net, breaking it down so that I can understand.
I thought I saw somewhere that a 100 hr. warning light comes on for the belt, that is why I figured it was best to change when I put the new clutch springs in.
By the way, while we were playing last weekend in the goop, a friend has a Kaw 360, and his belt started squealing every time he took off. This was the first time he had this happen as it is only a couple months old, and he had only been in mud and water a few times before. He said it wasn't making any noise later that day, guess it dried out.
Thanks

Yes, he came back with all the rest of them. Glad to have him back in the States even if I haven't seen him yet. I know his Mom (my sister) is very relieved to have him back. I know several of the guys from the Goodridge/Grygla/Oklee area, or know their parents, uncles & aunts.
