why no talk on the 950?

well AC now has the largest ATV out there and i just couldn't believe no one was even talking about it! do yall not like this quad or is it too high? do you think other company's will follow in AC's new direction? and what kind of power does it put up against the other big bores. i'm really interested in seeing how this new ATV will effect the market, and other companys...

I can't stop thinking about the 950. I have been on the fence as to what to buy, and this may be it. My concern is the price. At $10,500, I just can't help thinking that I can get a different big bore AND a Rancher 420 for my wife.
This year had a whole host of slick new offerings for the utlility market...
The Thundercat is great, but so is the AC 700 HI. I wonder how the 700 h1 will compare on performance with the Sportsman 800.
Kawasaki has a new EFI Brute Force with a new, revised suspension. These two things address the only weaknesses on that machine.
Suzuki will be coming out with their King Quad 750 this year.
Polaris has a new 800 Touring Model that is a 2-up with about the same wheelbase/weight has the single-seat model, with a very comfortable seat. The also revised their small displacement models.
Honda has yet to announce any major new releases, other than some new White colors.
Yamaha has announced a lower-priced non-power sterring version of the Grizz 700.
I think most of the Manufacturers did a good job this year, AC and Kawasaki in particuliar. I will likely be buying a new Brute Force 750, an AC 700 H1 or a Thundercat. I am drawn to the power of the Brute Force and Thundercat. I am turned off by the price of the Thundercat. I am drawn to the close-knit comradery that the AC owners share....and so this soap opera continues...stay tuned, purchase coming in the next 60 days.

Waterjetdude,
Just a heads up, but if you are thinking about a thundercat, you want to get it reserved soon. Most of the dealers around here already have there 950's from the first shipment sold out, I was fortunate to get one reserved from my local dealer, and 1 of his 2 was alreay reserved. You are right, the price is kind of crazy for an atv, and for the added money, the brute could probably win with serious mods to it, but having a stock machine also means having dependability. There are two reviews out of the Thundercat on yahoo, and both sound pretty good. Just type in Arctic Cat Thundercat to find them. I have always loved Kawi, and I love my p650, but this thing is going to be awesome.

Thanks Crankdog! The reviews are awesome! What is an appropriate amount to reserve an atv? $500, $1000, $2000,????? I don't mind paying MSRP to have one of the first one's, but I am afraid of leaving a deposit and then having the dealer tell me the price is $11,800 out the door or something.
Thanks Again!
Thanks Again!

The dealer I reserved from wanted 10%, so $1100, and final price of $11,100 out the door. He charged me MSRP plus tax, title, registration, no to bad for a small town guy. The other 10 dealers I called were charging MSRP. FYI, he said he had a delivery date in August, but you can't always trust the date on the paperwork. I am getting excited though, and can't wait to get some time on this thing. In response to polaris 5610, rumors are that Polaris and Can-am have thereown 900-1000 class atvs in the works.

Anyone run across a HP rating for it?

I think the majority of riders out there are waiting to hear more feedback from owners, first year products tend to have problems. As for the hype, there are a lot of people that can't license it as a regular ATV due to its engine so that cuts down a lot. There are very few AC vs Other brand type stuff in here so naturally there hasn't been very much big talk about the 950 either. I love having extra power, but right now the 950 is overkill for me. I would be way more excited to see a 750 twin than the 950.

wonder if minn will change there laws now on the size of atv's, where they can and cant go, you look at the 950, and it still looks like a reg cat atv, because you take the soo line and that is 800cc or the weight of the atv, so maybe they will jump up the cc's now, goes for the ditches too
