Default Stuck with 2 wheel drive

I have an 05 arctic cat 400 manual, it has the switch on the throttel side to switch from 2wd to 4wd. Well It wont engage into 4wd i can here all the electric parts trying to engage it.

Anyone have this problem before ?

It s almost as if the little gearbox making the cable pull SOMETHING to engage it is always humming when i select 4wd.

I wanted a manual for the reason little things like this would not go wrong.

HMMMMMMMMM !!!!

Can i get below it and pull something to manualy engage it ??????

Cant take it in now bow season starts Saturday, and i still got 2wd.

Thanks People

There is a servo motor, located directly behind the front differential, that engages the front driveshaft to the front differential. It operates a collar inside the front diff. that locks the diff. to the driveshaft. To quote the service manual:

"The front drive actuator is located on the left side of
the front drive input housing. With the engine
stopped and the ignition switch in the ON position, a
momentary "whirring" sound can be heard each
time the front drive selector switch is shifted. If no
sound is heard, see Section 5. If the actuator runs
constantly or makes squealing or grinding sounds,
the actuator must be replaced."

Funny I just saw this on a 05 last weekend. We removed the actuator and hit the switch and it whirred and nothing moved. He picked up a new one, installed it and according to him we should not need to pull him out of any more mud holes due to this problem this weekend. I do not know the cost though.
