Default Newbie Arctic Cat TRV 2003 500cc

I am buying a 2003 Arctic Cat TRV and would like to know the best way
to haul it. To get it home will be about a 350 mile ride. Does
anybody know if a 2003 500 TRV will fit in the back of Dodge 1500
short box (6 foot bed)? Will I need to put the gate down? What is the
best way to make sure it does not fall out? thanks...your help would be appreciated. I can't wait to ride it....

Put an old tire without the rim up against the cab so the front bumper does not go through your rear window. Put your tailgate down and drive it in and up against the tire. Strap it from the front to the rear of the truck and the rear of the ATV to the front of the bed and off you go. I think the wheel base is 65 inches or something like that.

You can also back an ATV into your truck and it is more difficult for the bumper to go through the rear truck window but a whole lot scarier backing up ramps!
