Default 2005 650 V2

I have a 650 V2 and I noticed today that there was a lot of blue smoke when you first start it and when you rev the crap out of it. I also noticed that it smelled rich and its hard to start, even if you been on a ride for awhile.
So my question is what can I check? At the end of the last season the choke cable was changed if thats any help.

My 04 650 did the same thing. Turned out that the rear Carb's float was stuck open because the needle and seat was not working properly. All the gas that drained past the rings went into the crank case and thinned out the oil. When I started it and seen all the blue smoke, I shut it down and checked the oil and noticed it was over full because of the gas. It was still under warranty so the dealer replaced the needle and seat and changed the oil.

I'd check the air filter next, a plugged one will leave you with hard starting and smoke.

Checked air filter looks good. I took it to a ATV shop in town and he said the engin was cooked. CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did a compression test and and it was 57 pounds. Is that low? The bike was never sunk, and it only has 1053 miles. It was always hard to start. What can I do.
Please help.

My 05 650 got hard to start and had a loss of compression. It turned out to be the valves needed to be adjusted.
