I am looking at buying one but I need to know the width to see if I can even get it in my backyard to store it. Can anyone that has one measure the width for me so I can measure my gate and see if it's feasable?

I am not positive but I think the AC 250 or 300's are around 40 inches wide or less. I am also pretty sure anything above a 300cc class will be wider than 49inches.
Plus, you can put wider tires on any machine to make it wider. Guess you could always put narrower ones onto decrease its width but I do not think you would be happy with how the machine would perform then.
How about if you accidently back into or drive into the gate so it has to then be rebuilt at a larger width?

The problem with that is the gate is as wide as it can be, the house is on one side and the property line fence is on the other. Otherwise that would be a great idea. But I was told that if I sell my Vette I can maybe park an atv in the garage

Sell your house, what is more important, the house or the ATV - lol. Hope you can have both and find a solution to your situation. You may be able to fabricate a ramp on one side and go off-camber to get it in.
