Top speed is not why i purchased it anyway, i dont see getting 50 out of it as a problem, most of the riding we do is about 30 mph on old bush roads and 10-15 mph on trails or slower in the rough stuff.
I bought it casue its got awsome ground clearance, its a beautiful lime green and it looks mean...lol...not to mention i got in even in Canada for just under 6000 bucks brand new!!!........on a end of model year blowout...only had it for about 2 weeks now.
im very excited about it, i cant wait till summer. Im going to love the big gas tank, i was tired of running out of gas or breathing fumes after a 80 km ride on my little polaris 325....50 miles will be a walkin the park for this big tank.!!
I think the cat is going ot be a great machine, ill put it through the test that is for sure......lol......
what should i know about this machine...im a first time cat owner..wht should i watch for?

Its only acceleration that suffers ,its top end is on pare with most 500 Utilities. I ride with a guy with a 2003 500 AC and it will cruise at 55mph easily it just takes a little longer to get up there.
It will get 100 miles out of a tank and is super comfortable to ride all day long.
PS: He has over 3000 miles and it has never been in a shop.

My dealer told me to change the oil at 100 miles and use the Cat synthentic. That's what I did....Bought the oil change kit, comes with filter and everything.. I paid 6200 out the door for mine in July 2007. They had the free winch deal going, so I got a warn 2500 winch. I bought the aftermarket front and rear bumpers also. The rear bumper wasn't an OEM, so it rendered 2 of the easy-mount things use-less....oh well, live and learn.

Well i can say for sure im lookin forward to the long distance gas tank, its nothing for us to jump on the quads and go 60-70 kms, now i will be able to go fast and still not have to even look at the gas guage.
Im going to take a ride this weekend, see if i can put 50-60 kms on it. Im planning on changing the oil at about the 160 km, or 100 miles range and at that point im going to put in full synthetic. Not sure what brand i will use yet, they are all about the same price.
I read a little thread about a spring in the carb slide mod......does it allow the engine to rev faster, that should improve off the line and lower end pick up speed.
does this mod change gas milage much......if i want andi do this mod and drill the hole..can i switch it back to the stock setting?

I have not had any issues with mine at all, other than a very minor shifter adjustment when new that I took care of myself. I have thrashed it in heavy brush when it was 40 below, and was very surprised the cold didn't bust up the plastic. They only thing I would like to see improved is the cold starting ability. If you have it in an unheated shed in the winter and have not run it in a while it ain't gonna start. Maybe a heater plug would work, but the shed I keep it in hasn't any electricity.
