1999 500 4x4 Rear Axle Bearings?
I'm in the middle of doing them (the ones out by the wheels) and I'm having a hell of a time getting the races out of the axle tube. I've removed the snap ring and the axle shaft but even a severe beating with the slide hammer isn't budging them. I'm heading out to go buy a MAP gas torch to put some heat on the axle but if anyone has any tips or tricks I'd really appreciate it. Oh, and if anyone has the torque spec for the axle nut I'd really appreciate you posting it for me.
Thanks!
John

I got it done with the MAP torch but it was still a bear to get them out. I had to use the big slide hammer attached to another puller to smash them out. If anyone has the torque spec for the axle nuts I'd really appreciate it. Now I'm going to move on to the ball joints. Thank GOD that All ***** makes them, they are $75 for the set of 4 as opposed to $120 from the dealer. The shock mounts are a little loose too and those are available from All ***** as well.

HI guys, just joined here and wanted to make sure you weren't making the same mistake I was on my '99 300. When driving the bearing out from the back side, make sure you are on the bearing and not slamming away at the stop peice molded into the hub. After I realized what I was doing mine slid out easily. Hope that helps....Mike
