AC battery discharge
#1
I have a new 08 AC 400 auto. After it sets for a week or so the battery is low. It has enough juice to start but 'VOLT' comes up on the digital readout. The longer it sets without starting the worse it gets. I have taken it the dealer and all they did was charge the battery and test it but nothing else. They said the clock and other things may be drawing it down. To me this doesn't seem right. Any suggestions?

With a good battery the bike should be able to sset in warm weather 2 or 3 month and have no problem starting. Put a digital multi meter on the battery and hour after it is charged and check the volts. Then check it every 3 or 4 days and check for loss. Do this with battery connected and not connected. If you put the multi meter between the battery + and the + cable it will tell you the draw with the key in off position for amps drawn. draw should be nill.
