Default dash lights

I have a 2003 400 Manual ACT when riding today i was in neutral and the neutral and reverse light were on at the same time. The revese light was the only one on when i reverse but when shifting back into neutral both lights wer eon again and no lights were on in any forward gear. When the reverse light is on with the neutral light is to the reverse light flickers at idle and stays bright and solid when the engine was revved... any ideas of what this is or how to fix it? thanks
