Has anyone had any expereince with these on deep snow ,was told they do better than a snow mobile. I am tired of spending half the day digging out of deep drifts while I am out west.

Tracks are FUN. They are slower than a sled but have lower gearing, torque, and bottom end. Driving technique is different than with sleds. The last thing you want to do with tracks is to spin and dig them in or you'll spend time digging yourself. You also need room, if you're on a narrow trail, to turn around. About 20'.

Depending on which tracks you're considering, expect to loose 30-50% of your top speed.

How big is your Cat and what tracks are you considering? Best prices and info that I've found sofar is from Gary at

www.atvtracks.net

Really knows his stuff and great to deal with.

I have a A/C 500 and a Yamaha660. I am getting the tatou'S and yes I am getting them from Gary. I am getting the hubs for the 660 also, because with all the problems I am haveing with the cat I am not sure that I will have it long. I just spent 2200. bucks on replaceing a frame that was cracked completly in to. The bike was less than 2 months out of warranty. The bike has never been jumped wrecked or other wise abused. I dont even let the kids or grandkids ride it.

Prepare for some fun regardless of which quad you use. If you want some input on the Yamaha PM "Gunny" at the same website I gave before. He made a few mods that were pretty good and he's posted some good photos.

Never tried mine in mud so no personal experience, HOWEVER, guys that I know that do mud think tires are better. I think that 4 season tracks are at thier best when the weather is tansitioning from winter to spring or vice versa.

About the 200 lb weight increase. Remember that is Unsprung weight. Its not like the quad is "carrying" the wieght, it is being "carried" by the weight. But again, if you put it on the scale, it will be 200 lbs heavier overall.
