04 500i auto..............26 inch mudlites tranny snorkel.disconnected actuator from front ent becouse it was stuck between 2 and 4 wd.i hit the gas sounds like bearings rollin just inside the box.it gets hot pretty fast as well.i was going to remove the cover today but i need to know what to do and look for.is this a cheap fix?someone said something about the 4x4 solenoid.where do i look for that?maybe i needed to clean it?i could use all the help i can get.thanx

Yeah, which part is getting hot?

If it s the black actuator box, then I do not believe it is sevicable only replaceable. If it is the front differential then you might check what its fluid level is and/or drain its fluid and see what kind of metal shavings you get out of it.
