Default Wet don't run

Why is it that when I stop in the water it runs like it's flooding, shuts off and dosen't want to crank. I don't think it's getting water in the carb cause as soon as I get it out it runs fine without draining the carb.
My 4 wheeler takes on water and pops runs bad untill I drain the carb.
This is a 07 prowler 650.

You might want to check your air box. Mine was busted on the bottom and it was allowing water in when I got in water a little deep.

Reroute your vent tubes. Your carb has one and so do your diffs. If you use it in water all the time, change the diff fluids. Your carb is a vacuum slide carb that needs a vacuum to run. When in water that high, it sucks water rather than air, cutting off the vacuum. Once back on dry land, the vent tube drains, and the machine runs fine.

It isn't a submarine.
