Atv logging

I'm thinking about pulling the log splitter back into the woods and hauling out split firewood, but my neighbor tells me if I do that I'll only get half as much wood on the trailer.
I disagree; you'll get more on the trailer and you can spent more time out in the woods. Plus you will have fewer wood piles in the yard.

I use something similar to what they sell on Northern Tool. It is a logging Arch with a hand crank winch to lift the front of the log and a second axle with a chian on it to slip under the back of the log and chain in place. That way the log it totally off the ground (approximately 8inches) and I do not get dirt ground into it so I don't have to sharpen my bandsaw blades as much when cutting the log into lumber.
When I am done I use a saw horse and chainsaw to cut the log sides into firewood and I never have to split wood.
I would put a link on here to it but I can't find it on their web site just in their 08 catalog.
