backfire

Default backfire

I have an 2003 500 man. it is backfiring alot. i have have the valves adjusted but still doing it. is there an adj. on the carb.to lean it outsome to see if it will help

Default backfire

Check your plug color it usually will tell you if its lean or rich. (white = lean, Black = rich)

You may want to check for an obstruction in the carborator. OR run some carb cleaner through that will remove carbon deposits. If the valve lash is too tight or if carbon keeps the eshaust/intake valves open when firing then you can get a backfire.
