a multi meter my Good man. . .first check for power going in and power coming out than test to make sure it has the right amount of power coming out. . .

a spark plug test light would be a quick easy test. . .if the light dont flicker you don't have fire than work your way backward to the CDI box.

The CDI box is a rather pricey unit $300-$400. . . a friend now a room mate of mine thought his went bad on his polaris 600. . . it turns out it was the stator and pick up coil even tho power went in and came out there wasn't enough coming out to keep it running. . .
so $650 later it runs like new or better. . .

Swap it out with a known good one. I've seen ohms checks in a couple machines manuals, but most manuals will say swap it for a known good or have no check at all.
