Douglas Wheels advise
#1
I just received my 27" Titan 589's from Rocky Mountain ATV.They are mounted on .190 douglas aluminum wheels. They fit everywhere except the right rear where the brake lever from the foot brake rubs the inside of the wheel. It looks like I'll need spacers to keep the wheel out a hair. Anyone have any experience with this.Btw the wheels and tires look real good ; not as tall as I expected but I haven't checked the air pressure yet.I drove about 100 yards before I noticed the rubbing and the steering'if anything was lighter.

What you need to do is take all of the slack out of your foot brake adjustment(assuming you have the mechanical foot brake). You need to do the same thing when you run ITP wheels. They put a decal right on the wheel telling you that the wheel will rub on the actuator of the mechanical brake. I don't understand why manufacturers don't try their products out and if there are problems, change their product, and make it work! Don't make us modify our stuff so we can use their overpriced aftermarket goodies. I will get off the soap box now....Aczr2k

I have a 2000 500 manual.I did take the foot brake off but I've still only got about 1/2 a lug nut to hold the wheel on.I think I'm going to send the whole thing back. The 27" 589's are just slightly taller than the stock 25" 489's.They are the a/t's not the newer m/t's.I'll either get some 27" mudrunners or the newer 589's on steel wheels.
