I put on the updated Fly wheel on my 03 400 and still no spark. The stator looked ok but apparently may have been damaged when the magnets came loose. Does any one know how to test the stator. I run the ohms test and it tested fine.

 

Cragle the Ohm test is the basic test. My Eiger manual does have a test for the generator output. Volts if I remember right. Is you ATV still at the dealer? If so they sould be able to run the test. These are the test that I was looking at doing but did not have the equip.

Also, just maybe a bad flywheel????

 

Did you get yours running yet? Mine runs like NEW! It has not run this good ever for me. Bought it 2 years ago.
I'm sure you have done this but recheck your connections. You have have left one loose or even disconnected. Just an idea.

 

Scott, Ya, I got it running. It wasn't the stator. The trigger coil was hit by a piece of the magnet and cracked. I actually epoxyed it and it works fine.

 

hi cragle1 ,ive got the magnet problem also an dont really want to put on another magneto with stuck on magnets . my stator looks good as the magnets shifted position but did no damage the stator. just to clarify , did you put the new magneto with the continuos band in with your old stator, id love to know if this is what you did as its the direction id like to take. please get back to me on this or anyone with information that could help. thanks
