Thinking about buying a 650H1 4x4
I own a DS650 and for the dune's or play it's great, but when the family or friends go into the muskeg its a heavy b***h to get stuck and unstuck. One of my dad's buddies bought a artic cat 700 and I drove it and it seemed really sluggish not too much power for a 700(Might not have been broke in yet, and all stock) just curious on the 650H1 I heard some good things and I can get one for really good price so just curious on anyones thoughts on it.

a few guys i know have the 650 atv, its been pretty good to them so far but they dont have alot of miles on them yet. Two others have the prowler with the 650 and have about 2,800 miles on them and havent had any issues so far with the motor. I have a 2008 700 and it doesnt seem to be to sluggish to me and it has 270 miles on it with 28" tires. You have to remember though that the cats are not known for speed, but the low end torque and are kinda heavy. Ive had 3 cats, 1st being a 300 then a 500(i still have it;3,000 miles on it) and now a 700. all have been great.

The wife & I really like/luv our '08 TRV 650H1 2-Up. It's got a ton of low end, and I've NEVER run out of throttle when it comes to trail riding. We have NP keeping up with others riding single.
I added a plow this winter and it pushes a *&it pile of snow! Put over 600 miles on it sofar, with little problem. I had an oil leak around the stator/recoil shaft, due to cold temps, but warranty fixed it.
The 650 is a GREAT machine/motor. Starts EVERY time. I'm dissapointed they don't offer it in the '09 line-up. We're looking at getting another TRV and I'm left with the 400 - 550 & 700 - 1000 twin touring pkg.

yeah, you can never really count on what magazine reviews say. Its all what the consumer prefers not a couple of test riders. The best advise come from all of us who ride these machines every day and put miles on them, not from them magazine riders that ride for a half a day and choose the one they like just b/c it feels good to them. I like the yamaha grizzly but it dont offer the things i want that the cat does, but after this past weekend we rode in a new place. Lots of big rock, mostly them rock crawling jeeps there. so i wish i had power steering but i still had a blast and i seriously doubt a low ground clearence bike would have made it. it may have, but it would have been difficult. our average speed was 4 mph. by the way, what part of canada are you from? Ive worked up there the ast 3 yrs so far but for only a month at a time.

cool, i worked out side of calgary, i think north. I forgot the name of the city, it wasnt real big. Im guessing an hr. from Red Deer. We worked at Adesa auto auction in 06 and 07, then worked in Montreal last year. Alberta is the best place i have ever worked, beautiful up there. We went to the c.o.p and did some downhill mountain biking,a blast! I wish i could have brought my atv up there and did some riding after we got done with work and rode for a week or so.I guess I could have ,but i didnt know where to ride.
