04 650 V2 belt light stays on after reset
#1
Anyone know what to do to correct this problem? Machine is not in limp mode and the belt looks good. (Cause unknown, but was riding on lake with 1.5 inches of water on the ice when light came on.

I bought a Moose power module to eliminate the limp mode light. It did not help - the light could not be reset and would not go out. They said I would have to change the sensor and possibly part of the housing that it is attached to for about $160 or so. I elected to live with the light permanently on. The Moose sure did boost low end - wants to cat walk without moving back on seat. Exciting but you have to be careful. But the light stays on.

I got a tip from another site that worked perfectly.
#1 turn ignition off
#2 Unplug 4 pin connector only
#3 Plug in jumper for light reset
#4 Turn ignition on
#5 While light is flashing unplug 2 pin connector
#6 Turn ignition off
#7 Reconnect all
#8 Turn ignition on & light should be off !!!

I just bought my 2004 650 v2 and the light is on. I got this thing that looks like a plug with a jumper wire on it. Is that the moose thing you guys are talking about? where are the 2 and 4 pin plugs you are talking about?
Thanks
