On my 04 and 05 650 V2's, the light would start blinking every 100 hrs as a "Service Belt" reminder. If you had any problems with the belt, the motor would be de-rated and the quad would run at a very low power mode. All you need to do is reset the belt warning with the small plug that comes with the quad and your good to go again.

purchased it used and all i got was the title. I don't have a plug. Actually, it isn't running as strong since the belt light came on. Does that mean that the belt needs to be replaced and is it easy to replace?

The belt light very seldom means that your belt needs to be replaced. The 100 Hr "Service Belt" reminder is just a recommended inspection of the belt and clutches. I had almost 3,000 miles on my original belt when I sold it and never had one problem with the belt. I had to reset the light several times but it only take 5 minutes to do so. The Arctic Cat and Kawasaki dealers should always have the reset plug in stock. Just to make sure your belt is ok, pull the cover off and make sure the belt is not coming apart or has any threads hanging from it. That's what will "Trip" the safety switch inside the cover.

Is it possible to reset the override without the plug?

You can over ride the belt 100 hr limp mode by installing a dynatek CDI which also gets ride of the need to push the reverse overide button
