I was wondering if anyone knew the formula to determine CCage becouse i just called Dennis Kirk and was considering getting a 40 thousanths over piston from Wiseco and was wondering what i would end up with for CC's. Also I called High Lifter on the 13 and talked to James and he said that a 300 lift kit will be release withing the next 60-90 days and it will be priced similarly to the other cat lifts.

Your stock bore is 68.5mm(2.6968 inches). The new 40 thousandth(0.040) piston will up that to a whooping 69.514mm(2.7368 inches). Resulting in about a 8cc increase from 280cc to 288cc.

I was reading about Weiseco piston on another forum yesterday. They are forged not cast. More strength. But everyone agreed that they have a tendency to seize up if you don't warm them up for a good period of time before each ride. I beleive they were in honda 400ex machines. You are only talking about a 3% increase in displacement so I couldn't tell you how great the performance increase could be. I'd talk to that salesman again and see what kind of care these pistons need. I know in the motors I build the forged pistons require more intial clearence so they make more noise and burn a bit more oil till they are fully warmed up and seated right. I've never worked on a quad engine so I can't tell you for sure what to expect. I hope this has helped some. Let me know how it works out.

KingQuad0014,

I am always looking for a riding partner. Let me know when your next ride is and I will try to be there.

I have a trailer so distance is not a problem. Finding legal riding areas is.
