How to tell if stator is bad or going?

guess the title says it all. just wanted to know what what the simptoms are for a bad stator or one the is going out. and maybe how to test one. thanks

usually if ur stator goes bad it goes all at once. if its cuttin off and on check ur grounds and plugs first
