ADDED REAR RACK/SEAT to TRV - WOW
This is a prime example of my OCD run amok.
Thanks to our income tax return (my 1/2) and NATIONALREPODEPOT I was able to (what I hope) is COMPLETE my TRV plowing set-up. So I spent the wkend installing and organizing how things will attach and this is what I ended up with.
ENJOY:
I added a rear R12 rack w/lumbar seat ($160) :
I also added a rear gun scabbard mount ($29) to hold my push shovel that I use to get at snow I can't reach w/the plow. The rear bag ($20) was an on-line purchase when we bought the wifey's 550, but it wasn't big enough to hold everything. It fit's PERFECTLY just behind the seat mount:
I then bought a AC spotlight mount for my beacon, but found that the R12 rack's bar thickness was BIGGER than my stock front rack, and ended up attaching it to the upper faceplate vertically. Since my beacon has a magnetic base - it holds on . My rear back-up torchlight mounted w/np. It all seems to work:
Overall the set-up seems to work pretty good. Other than I have to "train" myself NOT to kick the lumbar seat w/my foot when dismounting. I've also guestimated that I've now added close to 200+lbs (including plow & frame) to the TRV - so it plants itself pretty low-in-the-snow by the time I get my 300lb butt on it........but I sure don't spin out. LOTS of plowing in L.
When spring rolls around and the plow comes off, I'll "modify" the look since I'm considering keeping the rear rack ON until those times when riding 2-UP become nessesary. We'll see.
Well there ya all go. Feel free to chime in with what you think.
