I was readin somewhere, maybe somewhere here, that you can lock the front wheels on the A/C's. What models will this work on? Can it be done on the 3, 4 and 500's? What has to be done to lock em and will it hurt the equipment in the long run?

Thanks

Gary

this is the same front diff the suzuki has and it has 2wd/4wd/4wlock. it works for the 250/300 models. as you can see it took me a while to get the stupid clickable link thing correct, lol.

Thanks for the help but I am not sure of what you are sayin. My question was to lock the front wheels as in a "true 4wd" as Polaris advertises. I am not understanding what you are sayin because to me just changin the linkage will not give true 4wd but will only allow you to run in the original "3 1/2" wheel drive. I know I am missing somethin here. Because as I understand it changing just the linkage will afford me nothing but not being able to use 2wd. I was thinkin more on the lines of bypassing the limited slip differential and locking the front end so both wheels turn as one. Is this possible using A/C's front end?

Thanks again

Gary

the suzuki front end has 3 settings. the ac has the same one but with only 2 settings due to marketing reasons and could only sell the machine with the linkage allowing 2wd and 4wd. by extending the linkage, it gives you the same 3 the suzuki has. 2wd/4wd slip/4wd locked("true 4wd").there is another setting the ac has that you can't access with the linkage it comes with. that is my perception of the situation. i'm just trying to pass along what i have read here. maybe someone else knows more about this. good luck.

Bill,

Thanks I think I understand what your sayin now. In other words there is a way to get the "true" 4wd by extending the linkage. This then will give me the best of all worlds.

Thanks again

Gary

You can also lock all 400/454/ and most 500 models too. But you can't take the locker out. Check on www.ATVMasters.com and look at the bottom right.

Darn, he moved it again. I'm gonna talk to him about where he put it or if he deleted it. I'm Currently trying to get Niteowl to approve it being posted on Dirty Howei's locker page. When I do, I'll be sure to send you there.
