Default will not start

I have a 02 arctic cat 300 4x4. The starter has been rebuilt but when you hit the start button all you can hear is the starter spinning, the motor will not turn over. You can use pull start but its a pain in the butt to crank it. I took side of the motor off and all the gears look good no broke teeth and put a new battery on it. Im lost and dont know what to do. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

you took the side of motor off??? i guess i don't understand. i would take the starter off as the starter drive is sticking inside the starter or your teeth on the starter drive or the ring gear are stripped. i am thinking the starter is sticking.

sounds like your starter drive isn't sliding forward when it turns over. it is probably sticky. take it off and you will see what i'm talking about.
