You are on your game Fossil!!!!
I found them earlier on ebay while looking for the CDI. They seem to be reputable.
I believe that I am going to order a voltage regulator from them. The resistance measurements are wayyy off according to the downloaded service manual. I would think that if the vr was bad, it would also affect the CDI. $69 for a vr to test would be easier to swallow versus at least $220 for the CDI.
I think we are getting closer

Just wanted to post an update.
Spoke with the guys at Country Cat and they had me check some other measurements. They are thinking coil (which is what I was thinking at some point in time but the resistance measurements on it cold were in spec.). While poking around, I found that the spark plug cap was open. Should have had about 10 k ohms resistance on it. Ordered a coil (for the intermittant heating up problem) and a spark plug cap for the non-starting problem now experiencing.
Parts came yesterday, got everything put back togather late last night. Took it out this evening and ran it for about 45 minutes.
First time it has ran over 30 minutes without quitting in seemingly years!!!
I think we have it cured. Hoping for some more snow to try it out in. Will keep everybody posted.
Thanks for all the help.

probly need to clean the carb and check the gas in the gas tank for water or dirt. also pull on stator wires by starter to see if you can get it to act up if not stator is ok. if the carb needs to be cleaned you should also put in a 102 starter jet your atv will start a lot better and quicker.
