Default 08 400 Arctic cat differential ?

Hey, I was wondering if someone could help me out. I have a 08 Arctic cat 400 that has a bad front differential. Is 08 the only year that is compatible? Thats the way it looks to me when I look up the part online, however there are some on ebay that say they work for all 400's. Thanks in advance!!!

08 is the only year that will work i checked 2006 thru 2010 and they are all different part numbers.so i would say they are different. but maybe someone has tried a different diff and it worked.

The case is the same from a 06 to a 08, so it should bolt up. Its best to compare the whole parts list to see what is different. Also, what is wrong with yours, they are fairly easy to work on and the part you need is problably way cheaper than a whole another assy.

I am not really sure what is wrong with it. I have it at a mechanics. I am taking his word the entire thing needs replaced.
Thanks alot!

This is my first Arctic Cat so I am hoping for the best. I bought it with the front differential out of it. I am tired of my junk Polaris's so if this arctic cat works out my entire fleet will be changing

The '08 Cats had an issue with a bad weld on a pin holding a gear in place. When the pin falls out it destroys the front gearcase.

I have heard that Cat is replacing these under an extended warranty.

If that's what happened you should try them for a freebie.

Thanks for the info!!! I am checking into that now. That would be great if it was on their nickel.

Check the pics at this link. These welds are the ones that fail.
