Default Help! Carb cleaning...

I'm working on cleaning my carb (Keihin CVK34) on '08 366 AC for the first time. I'm following my service manual. Every is mostly taken apart. The washer & o-ring for my pilot screw did not want to come out. So I turn it upside down and bang it lightly against my hand. They came out fine. But so did the part below, somewhere nearby, not sure where. And I'm not seeing it referenced in my manual.

Any ideas? And which end goes in first?

Also, for some reason, the part where my vent hose connects is plastic. The manual doesn't say anything about taking it off. And it's not really apparent how it come off (if it does). But I thought that was a no-no when sticking the carb in cleaner?

Shew, found a picture on the CVK40. It's apparently the collar to the main jet.
