How do you folks like the heel-toe shifter setup on the M-Cats. I don't mind it for slow riding but I have found that any type of riding that requires some quick shifting it becomes a pain. Does anybody make a conversion kit to make it all toe? I know the dealer has a toe shifter but it doesn't address the floor board issue I think you would have with it still there. Thanks for da input folks. Have a good one.

the shaft that holds the shift lever should have grooves on it. Just rotate the toe shifter up to where you could get your foot underneath comfortably without running into the floorboards.

Cat also offers a hand shifter but I have never seen one and don't know if it is in the way. If you don't have to shift a lot due to the big bore maybe that is an answer? The heel / toe shifter is nice for cold weather applications because the thick hunting boots are a challenge for most toe only shifter set ups. For more aggressive riding maybe the auto is the better way to go?

You can also convert it to electronic thumb shift with a kit. The dealer where I'm from installed on on a 500AC the year before they came out with the Auto. I never tried it, but apparently it worked alright.

well i HAD the rocker shifter on my cat and i liked it but not as much as the reg shifter..so i bought the toe shifter...then when i was riding one day i decided to go into a mud whole and i forgot to put it in low..it was in 3rd high. so i reached down in seat deep high water and shifted it to low and had to down shift to 2nd and got my feet WET... so i decided to get the 20 inch hand shifter and i love it...i can go into DEEP water/mud and put my feet on the fender and dhift away without getting wet/dirty

AC offers an toe only shifter for under $20.00. Call your dealer and have him order one if he don't have one in stock.
