Default Artic Cat 250 marking it's territory

Hi! A "buddy" of mine brought me his artic cat 250 four wheeler because he supposedly wasn't using it. Well, he let it sit outside for two year w/o touching it. So he was supprised that when he tried to use it again that it ran horrible. (he didn't even drain the old gas out). So he brought it out to my place for me to use.

So I took the carb off, cleaned out all of the crap. Took out all the jets b/c they were corroded shut, cleaned them. Then i got a new needle and cleaned it all one last time and assembled. So now, we have a clean carb, clean gas, and a clean fuel system. Now whenever you leave the gas on, whether the atv is running or not, it constantly has fuel running out of the over flow of the carb. If I bend the little metal tab on the float up a little (that the needle sits on), it won't overflow the carb till the metal tab bends back down again. What am I doing wrong? Do I just need to get a new float?

Thanks!
