Hi folks Im new to this forum hope you can help me out. I have a 1998 Artic cat 300 4x4 that has some rev issues.The machine cranks and runs great(no missing) but will not rev up quick and is sluggish.Im thinking it might be the CDI box as it seems like the timing is not advancing.I have cleaned carb,adjusted valves ,and replaced spark plug and air filter.Id like to know what some others think before I buy a CDI box.

You say you cleaned the carburetor, I have to ask if you removed the float needle's seat? Once the seat is removed, you find a small screen that clogs easily. It's so small. I missed it on mine.

CDI provide a signal to fire the coil. Check out Youtube's videos on diagnosing CDI's.
