Hello all! I am very new to this site and haven't posted yet...
I have a 2002 375 automatic 4x4 atv.. Red color.
The drive belt is slipping and needs to be replaced. I was going to replace it anyway as it was in need of but then when it started slipping in the snow, it was time.
On the right side as you were sitting on it is the casing for the tranny and the belt, as I suppose. Would taking that case off reveal the belt?
I don't want to take it off and have everything flying out at me.
If someone could walk me through changing the drive belt, i would greatly appreciate it.

 

I havent swapped a belt on anything before, but yes, the belt is behind the large oval shaped cover. You can take it off and then inspect it. It will expose the clutches and the belt. A search should pull up more info on actually swapping the belt, but I believe you just pull 1/2 of front clutch off of the crankshaft and slide the old belt off and the new one on. Hopefully someone who has done it will chime in with a little better instruction though. Good luck!
