What is MSRP on this bike I couldn't find that information on their website. My father-in-law is looking for a hunting ATV with which he can still have a little fun on!!

Thanks in advance for your replies !!

MSRP is $5500, but there are alot of rebates going on right now. My local dealer is selling them for $4799 right now.

We have an 01 400 and 500 manual. Both are great. I haven't really had a need for the selectable 2wd/4wd that my 500 has. The steering effort is lighter with the 400 than the 500 by a noticeble margin. The 400 does lack some in the power department compared to the 500 but it works very well for my mom and dad and their nonaggressive riding style. I know I've never heard my dad say he wishes he bought the 500 like mine. I think that says alot because we compete with everything else we buy. I bought a Dakota R/T he bought a Dakota Quad Cab with the same 5.9L engine, the list goes on and on. With the rebates and winch deal right now I want to get a third quad for even more fun. I think you are looking at a good deal. Good luck with whatever you decide to purchase.
Here is my web site so you can check out our 400 and 500 cats in action. The 500 has the winch.

Hey thanks for an honest evaluation on the quads Dakotart. I think for my father-IN-law this maybe a perfect fit. I will keep you posted.

Thanks again,

Any other opinions on the 400. I believe we are getting real close to purchasing one. It seems like a real value compared to the $5000 and higher Honda and Polaris brands.

Thanks,

Triston

(primary use will be for hunting and work around the duck club may some trail riding nothing too crazy though)

What is a better deal they are offering a 2 year extended service contract or a warn winch which one is the better value.

I have the winch and it has saved my butt a few times. If you could use the winch get it. Chicks dig it on top of that. If not get the extended warranty. I have found a hundred different uses for it. It works well to setup a trot line across a river in the winter or pull barb wire tight.

when you read the fine print on the extended warranty it really is only 18mo. you get your regular 6mo warranty plus an additional 18mo making a total 2 year warranty. I think the winch deal is better if you will use it but if not the extended warranty would be could incase something happens.
