Help plz..2000 arctic cat 300 4x4 wont stay running

Hope im doing this rite just joined site sorry if in wrong area, ,
Anyway I really need some help I have a 2000good Arctic Cat 300,4x4 that has been having issues now it wont stay running ... ugh... well can get it to start but when I give it gas it dies out really frustrated with it at the moment, any suggestions. Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you probably need to clean the carburetor good. Take the carburetor off, dissasemble it all and run high pressure air through all the passages with a little carb cleaner through them as well. Re-assemble making sure to put the jets back in the correct places (make sure the jets are clean with air and by passing a small wire through the hole).
Also, be sure to take out the pilot screw (on bottom of the carburetor on the engine side) and blow air through that passage. But before you take it out, turn it in until it lightly bottoms out. As you do this, count the turns. It'll probably take around 2 turns. Youll want to bottom this out and set it back at that factory setting when you put it back in.
Id say this should fix your issues. Carburetors can get gummed up if they sit very long and its a good idea to keep fuel additive in it if you are going to let it sit for more than a couple weeks.
