Bought a new 300 DVX - anybody else got one?

Was there a specific model or year 500 Polaris the sprocket was from? This sounds like just what I'm looking for! Thanks a lot for the info - I'll check it out!

You need a sprocket that fits a 25mm spline shaft that has 13 splines. I checked
the JT sprockets online catalog and, after lots of research, found the Polaris
500 Scrambler/Predator used that size, but it was not exactly the same. JT
is the big daddy of aftermarket sprockets, but they only offer the OEM size 14-
tooth drive sprocket for the Kymcos. I wanted 13 or possibly 12. The Polaris'
was 13. Some eBay dealers have it for about $23. Double-check, cuz it's been
a couple of months since I made the swap.
If you are handy, you can modify the retainer to work.

Thanks a lot for the info! I'll be checking that out for sure. A buddy of mine is a Parts Unlimited dealer, I'll see if he can get me the sprocket I need. You don't know how much I appreciate this, I had no idea where to even start looking!
On a totally unrelated note, I made a set of fender flares for the rear body work. I used a strip of black plastic that I picked up at the local race car shop, cut to size and zip-tied them to the fenders. It sure is nice not to be absolutely drenched in mud from the knees down every time I ride this thing! When I put them on I really didn't care what it looked like as long as it stopped the mud flow, but the black flares look pretty good against the orange body work. I'll have to snap a photo and post it here.

Its the thing now. Most manufactures sub contract their smaller cc models out now.
Polaris does not make there Sportsman 90.
The Arctic Cat 300 is just a Mongoose 300 with a higher price. http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...2=246886&go=Go
Looks like the Kawasaki 300 also uses the same Kymco motor http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...2=246886&go=Go

other, smaller Polaris ATVs. The Sawtooth is/was the utility equivalent.
BTW, the Phoenix has a Very Good suspension, using front A-arms as
long as those on the Predator 500. I find the CVT trans more bulky-
shifting that the similar Kymcos. But the Phoenix also features full
floorboards, so has much superior mud protection vs. just about any
other sporty quad.
Got any DVX? Expect to get Wet. I also have a DVX400.

Finally getting back on this post after many months! I ordered the Polaris front sprocket, but the one I got has a different spline than the 300 DVX. Is there a specific year or something that I need to order for?
Also, after doing some calculations, I figured out that a 41 tooth rear sprocket will change the gearing the same as going one tooth smaller on the front sprocket. Does anyone know where I might find a sprocket that will bolt up to the 300? I've looked at a few on line and all that I've found have a very small bolt circle compared to the 300 sprocket. If I could find one with enough "meat" to it I could drill the bolt pattern of the 300 hub into it, but so far I haven't found one that I can do that to either. Any advice?
