Default arctic cat 90 utility questions

hey guys new owner of a 2006 AC 90 utility for my daughter....seeking some info.

1. is there a special way of cranking with the electric start, when I bought it it cranked perfectly, now 3 days later I push the button and nothing happens, if I pull on the right hand side (rear?) brake it tries to start...what's the special way to crank?
2. cranks easily with the kick start....we've had one instance when she stopped and when she went to go again, she was giving it gas but it wouldn't go forward at all.....we shut it off...cranked again, pumped the throttle and it took off like normal...could that be trash in the gas lines, carb....maybe it needs a good cleaning?
3. I've read about removing the spacer for gained speed but we don't need 30 miles per hour....is there any other way to gain just a little more speed????
she's really enjoyed it so far, please if you have any suggestions/comments please let me know, thanks for any input guys
