i have a 2007 400 4x4 auto
i rebuilt the top end and put a new starter, solenoid, and battery on it. went to start it and it does nothing but click. the green neutral light comes on when i turn the key and it rolls. i checked my grounds and with a test light checked my power which makes it all the way to the starter when you try to push button start it. i can pull the pull chord and the engine will turn over (not start) so its not locked. i am out of ideas! somebody please!!!

 

Make sure your cdi is getting power. Also check the wiring to make sure its wired. Take a INSULATED screwdriver and you can bypass the solenoid by touching the post. Just because its new doesnt mean it works. Ive dealt with a bad "new" solenoid a million times it seems

 

Clicking sound means current is not going through the device. Try to check the ignition switch, it could be loose also the solenoid signal wire.
