Default Mud pro 700?

Looking to add a second quad so the wife and I can go ride more often. I'm looking at a 2012 mud pro 700. Love the look of it but I'm concerned about trail riding with it. So is this truly just a mud machine or will I be ok trail riding with it? I know max speed isn't much over 45. That's fine. Just wondering of the people that have them or know someone are they pleased with them?

Any over sizes heavy 28" Mud tires with a aggressive tall lug is going to make general trail rides much rougher.

Depends on you riding . Do you find yourself in deep above seat height gooey mud or water over 50% of the time.
Its just a regular 700i core that is snorkeled with fancier rims and larger tires. Or a 700 LTD with 28 tires vs 25" and snorkeled. 2013 Arctic Cat MudPro™ 700 LTD ATVs

Here is a good review on one buy a owner 2011 Arctic Cat 700 LTD ATVs - Ridden Hard And NO Complaints

I myself would op for a 700 LTD and put on some nice aftermarket 26" lighter tires with a more aggressive lug.

That way the ATV rides smoother , quicker, steers better yet is still better then stock in the mud with a usable front rack.

But the snorkel is handy if you get over your seat in stuff.

I don't ride in stuff seat high often. I know I would if I had the mp. I probably wouldn't buy or even look at the mp but the dealer has a great price on it.$ 7999. So I couldn't even put rims and tires on a 700 for what they want for the pro. For the price I think it's worth it. I just wanted to know what people think of them.

Whats your dealer selling a 700 LTD for in comparison?

Because 28" Zillas or good brand tire only cost $600 a set and the LTD has the same rims as the Mud pro.

Not concered about the snorkel , that's $50 of plumping supplies from a hardware store and a afternoon's work.

If your Just looking for a reliability, report , just ask what a regular 700i or LTD is like since much more have been sold vs the Pro.

Even the hard core Mud guys stay clear of the expensive mud pro because they want to chose their own brand of Mud tires and do not trust a snorkel that they did not install themselves.

Here is the diff between a Pro and LTD http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...2=315493&go=Go Notice the same rims.

The reason I asked about the mud pro is because I believe they are geared a bit different then the rest. I believe they have 3.1 gears instead of 4.0. So that with the tires and just wondered how they handle on hard pack type trails. And the rims are very much the same except the mp comes with 14" instead of 12". A same year xt, or whatever the label is, is 500 bucks less then the mp. I'm not to worried about reliability they seem to be great machines. I just don't want to be unhappy riding a mp on the trails.

That is possible, that the Mud pro may be clutched or geared reduced from the factory for heavy mud slinging with those big tires.

Good point.

Get whatever you like the looks of best. Both are awesome machines. If its your first cat, it will shine when the going gets tough. Cats rock! (and look good doing it) amazing ground clearance and torque. I just got a lil 500 , actually only 443cc, and its a beast with 27s on her. Wont go a lot over 50 mph, but who cares. lol?

don't forget to look at the weight difference as well, and the little height difference. With the extra 100lbs and 2-3" of height center of gravity is going to be higher. Your going to work harder on the trail to go the same places

If you're not planning on going that fast, I would think a 500 would be plenty of power.
