New to me 1998 300 4x4
Well I am new to Artic Cat. I just came across a 1998 300 4x4 that is in good/average condition. The owner said it wasn't running right probably needs carb work.
It fired up but started pouring tons of gas out of the breathers. Long story short, I drained 2.5 gallons of gas/oil out of the crankcase. Good thing we didn't run in long.
So I assume the float is stuck. I will work on that.
I will start having questions and here are my first two please.
1. Under the air filter housing is a 6-pin connector that appears to go to the gearbox. I believe this is because it was optional to have a speedo with shift lights? Perhaps that it what this is for? Needless to say I don't have that option. The connector is not connected to anything.
2. The carb only seem to have one vent line, and it simply loops from the top right to the top left of the carb. No other drain lines, overflow lines, etc.. does this sound right?
Thanks guys!

Some more help. On my carb there are two nipples at the top of the carb, about 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock. Currently they are tied together. What are these two lines? Vent lines? Should they be tied together or routed somewhere else to atmosphere? Seems odd that they are tied together.
Please advise. Thanks!
