This last weekend was sure a great for me. It was the 2nd annual "A Swell Cure for Cabin Fever" Poker Ride hosted by the SEUOHV Club In Emery County Utah. The ride was a 30 mile loop out on the San Rafel Swell. There were several hundred in attendance and it was a blast!!!!!
The weather was just beautiful and warm all day long. We arrived about 10:00am and unloaded the quads went down and registered. I took my three girls (5,4,18mo)with me. All three of them had a blast too!!! We hooked my youngests car seat to the back rack and she thought she was the coolest little person out there. I guess so did a lot of others. It seemed that every time we stopped people came up and took her picture and checked out how I had attached her car seat to the rear rack.
Anyway, the trail was very easy. There were a couple of parts that might have been a little challenging for a begining rider. They started us off down a dirt road for about a 1/2 mile or so and then you turned off onto another small trail. The first stop was by this cave where the military had done some testing. I guess that area was one of the places they looked at building NORAD. Then we followed along this beautiful canyon onto the second check point. Along the route there were some beautful overlooks where you could look out see some indian writings and more rock formations. At the fourth check point they had a short route back to the trucks for those who had had enough riding. But for the rest of us we rode on another 10 miles to the fifth check point and then back to the trucks. We ended up getting back to the trucks about 3:30pm.
Overall it was a great time for all of us. I know that my daughters will talk about and remember this weekend for a long time.
I really enjoy the opportunities ATV's provide my family. We get to spend some great quality time with each other and also see some very interesting places. If it weren't for ATV's we probably never would have seen such a beautiful place.

when you say silver city do you mean Eurika? I have been out to a race there once last fall. I have never really been riding out there other than that. Yes, let me know when you are available to go riding. If I am free then I would go in a heart beat. Just send me an email ttaylor@klune.com
