Well today i tried to cross some deeper water than i should have in my 500 auto. i slowly drove in the water and when i heard the water hitting the fan i backed out. After i backed out i didnt have any power to my wheels. So i took out the drain plug for the tranny and about 1/2 cup of water came out. after that it worked fine. My question is do i need to take off the tranny cover or was draining the case good enough.

Draining should be good. I have had to do that to my Kodiak several times before I made my snorkel. If you do a lot of deep water riding you should look into makeing a snorkel for yours.

Keep your ear tuned in for bearing noise, if you had water in her, she'll start growling soon.

Otto is correct. My Cat is in the shop again for the third time for this problem.
