My son has my old '97 454 4X4 and he would like to put on a K&N Power Kit (jets and airfilter), however we are only able to find a power kit for the '98 454. What is the difference between the two as it pertains to the application of a power kit?
When I owned the '97 454 I returned it to the dealer for a recall (in late '98) whereby they changed the carburator (that added a primer to the carb to aid in the cold starting ablilty). So guys and gals here is my question.. if I had the carb updated via this recall, will this allow the '98 power kit to be installed on a '97 454? It has a Mikuni on it currently.
