IS THIS A GOOD DEAL? if so which is better?
2001 atctic cat 400 4x4

dealer # 1 , in my state
5000 with free plow and winch, if you dont want them, 400$ off price

dealer #2 4599 out of state, no winch , since its out of state, that means no tax, right?

and how does the 400 4x4 stack up to other 400 cc class 4x4's,
i know it has IRS, high and low, good suspension, and wads of torque.... any other info before i make my purchase?

about 3 months ago the cheapest I could find was $5225. this included taxes and a winch. looks like a pretty good price to me. you might want to what to see what the 2002 lineup is like thought. they may drop there prices even more.

The 300's and below have IRS, while the 400;s(true 371cc) have Semi- IRS (basically a coil over shock version of a Jeep Wrangler's rear end).

The 371 doesn't have the LOW end torque most of the 400's in it's class have, but it has alot more going for it. IT has a dual range tranny, full floor borads, very comfortable suspension, one of the best seats in the industry (IMO), fairly easy steering, tight turning, very stable, big racks with the larges rating in it's class (I think), lots of ground clearance, and good tires.

In a recent shoot out, the AC 400 beat out the Foreman 400. Not bad huh??

not bad at all,
so, i should probably wait untill the 2002's come out, and get the 2001 for cheap?
and by the way, i am looking at a 2001 brochure right now, it sez the 300 and below have the semi, and the 400+ have the ATC independent,
i will be riding with a 2000 sportsman 500, and a kawisaki bayou 250,
in what areas can the 400 ac beat the non-ho sportsman with the rubberband, i mean automatic tranny?

Kukerdan,
The AC 400 is a great machine. I just bought mine and love every minute of it. It has plenty of power. The gearing is low enought ot get you anywhere in high range.
As Far as the best deal I bought mine for $4350 plus accessaries and taxes. So, $4500 is not too bad. No sales tax.... I don't think so. Atleast in my state even though you bought it out of state when you go to license it they would charge you sales tax at that time. You might want to check with your state tax commission and see. It would be like buying it from a private individual. When you go to license it they nail you to the wall. Trust me the IRS has just about every loop hole covered.
