AC 500 reserve fuel capacity
#1
I was running my 99 AC 500 today and had to go to reserve with only 33 miles on the trip meter! We did ride about 10 miles today in low range (my son is learning on his lt-80, so top speed was 10mph today!)and I know that could make a big difference. How much fuel is left in the tank when you turn the petcock to reserve? I filled up when I got home and it seemed like it held about 3.5 gallons or so. I've got a 60+ miles per day club ride coming up in October and am getting a bit worried that I will have to take a LOT of extra fuel to go that far! Does any of you CAT owners have any comments?
I do weigh about 295lbs, but I thought I would get at least 20 mpg or so!

Well ive gone on a 50 mile ride and made it home. Im sure running slow speeds and in low gear had a diffrence. Umm about the mpg its not gonna be a light drinker...its gonna chug gas pretty good but not to bad

It all depends on the type of riding. You will get a lot better driving dirt roads above 30mph than you will going through the woods, crossing creekbeds every 200 yards. I went 23 miles today of mostly deep woods riding and i have about a half tank left on the guage. My uncles 454 was about the same.
