Im going to buy a plow next week. Its only $20 more for the 60" over the 50". The 50" seems that it would be better for plowing and its alot less to control. I know we are only talking about 10" but when you have the 2 plows side by side the 60" looks like a monster. Im just going to be plowing driveways with this. How much more does the 60" weight over the 50". I have a 500cat. Any help would be great.
Thanks

I have a 500 auto and got the 60" plow. The 500 pushes it no problem. When you are in the cold for a while, you will be glad you got the 60".
However if you have a small driveway the smaller one will do better.

Stitch-
Like he said, if you're not doing any really tight, small area's, I'd opt for the larger 60". The machine won't have any trouble at all moving the blade in the snow, and you'll clear a larger area faster, plus the "rollback" won't be near as much of a hassle as the smaller 50". For the $20 difference, I'd definately go with the 60".

Best of Luck,

Mike

Will the 50" angled still cover the width of my Cat. If not I will go with the 60" becasue its not good to drive over snow before it has been plowed
Thanks

Definetly get the 60", it does a better job of getting the snow away from your tires when angled & the Cat has no problem with the weight or size. The only reason to get the smaller plow is if you are going to clear sidewalks. I've used my 60" to break thru banks that the highway trucks made at the entrance to my drive!!!!!

I'm not sure what brand you are looking at, I prefer the Moose Utilities plow.

CatLance,

If I get a plow from Moose, will I have to order the mounting frame and hardware from Arctic Cat? I know the mounting frame changed with the 2002 models.

Thanks

I don't know, but I would imagine that Moose (if they haven't already) will come up with a mounting plate pretty quick. Have you checked their website http://www.mooseutilities.com/ to see if it is available? There is relly nothing to them, it is a plate with ears welded to it on each side of where the pushtubes reach to. You just u-bolt the plate to the frame & use pins to attach the pushtubes to the plate.

Well I went with the 50" plow. I looked really hard at the 60", but the 50" will fit better in the back of my truck or on my trailer. I also have some plowing jobs this winter that are all smaller driveways and I thought that the 60" would just be too much. I have one big driveway to plow but the 50" should do fine for it, ya it may take 10 more mins, but it will still do the job. I got the Plow, Push tubes and bottom mount plate for $298.12. It was the best deal that I could find, and I went with it. Can't wait to do some plowing.
Have fun and be safe
Thanks

That sounds like a good deal. I have to take my plow off and angle the push tube on the blade to get it in the truck with my Cat. Do you think you can load your Cat into your truck with the plow attached? If I were to do any plowing regularly away from my house, I would get a trailer that I could just drive the Cat (with plow attached) onto & drive away. It takes too long to attach & detach the plow each time.

Don't get too excited about snow flying, it will happen in due time.

Ok heres another stupid question. I am planning on buying an Arctic Cat in the very near future. I can get the Warn winch with it. If I order the plow from Moose, all I need is the plow, push tubes, and winch kit to make it all work, correct?

Forgive me for asking what may be obvious questions - but your talking to a "city boy - turned - country boy" here, and this is all new to me.

Thanks.

P.S. Think the AC 375 4x4 auto will be enough to push 6-8 inches in my driveway? I can't afford the 500, and I'm torn between the 375 4x4 and the 400 4x4. I've already decided on the AC, just can't make up my mide about the size. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I
