Need help settling a bet

A friend of mine bought a 2000 300 cat and swears it has FULLY independent rear suspension. I thought 2002 was the first year for it (i.e. 500i, 400i). So if anyone knows for sure if it has full or semi-independent rear suspension I would appreciate the info (there's money riding on the answer)
Thanks!

They had fully rear independent for the 400 and the 500 for 2001. And I believe they had fully independent rear for the 300 as well. At least that is what the 2001 brochure says that I have. I am not sure about the 2000 year model 300 though. Boner would know for sure though. He should be responding soon to this question.

Just today I seen one of these smaller cats with true IRS, a peculiar set up for sure, but true independent. The bigger cats (pre "I"
indeed use a 'floppy' multilink system on a tube axle-that's not independant.

ANSWER:
The 300 came out in 1998 in both 4wd and 2wd versions. They were both fully independant! The 250 2wd was released later followed by the 250 4x4 and these were also fully independant. Until the 2002 500 and 400 "i" models came out, the 250 and 300 were the ONLY fully independant (meaning no straight axle) quads produced by Arctic Cat.
